The only ones I’d call really leftist are “Sicko,” “Avatar” and (I’m guessing) “Blue State.” Matt, Ben, and Leo haters could also make a case against “Good Will Hunting” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” but I wouldn’t go so far.
Whoever made up the list confuses queer or raunchy or zany with liberal or progressive, but most of this stuff isn’t really ideological compared with the rest of what Hollywood puts out.
It’s harder to make a list like this now, because so many movies are implicitly progressive (men bad, Whites bad, straights bad) that those with even more pointed political messages get crowded out.
Despite DiCaprio I would not call “The Wolf of Wall Street,” a liberal movie.
