Went to Wally World to do my weekly early morning Sunday shopping, and saw the Red Ryder prominently displayed in the middle of the aisle.

Was very surprised, in these PC times. They also had classic games as Monopoly, Sorry, and Twister displayed, I felt like I was back in 1970.

The box looks goofy with the cartoons. Inside is the real deal. Spring-Action Lever Cocking avoids bruised fingers. Seven clicks! Holds 650 (not included). Made in China.

I had one growing up... I think Dad got it from King’s Department Stores. My brother and I turned part of the basement into a shooting gallery.

I bought one of these at the Walmart self checkout last Christmas. An employee did come by to make sure I was old enough to buy it, but that was it.

In my old state of NJ this BB gun is treated just like any AR-15. I would have had to get it from an FFL and fill out the 4473 and have a NICS background check.

I loaded my BB gun by taking a mouthful of bbs and spit them into the chamber. That couldn’t have been good.

Our local Family Owned Hardware Store that’s been Open in the same location for 124 years has them in stock. And tons of other older everyday stuff from back in the day.

It’s like walking into a Time Machine.

Jack says if we don’t have it then you probably don’t really need it anyway. Jack also says as long as He’s still around there will be no Computer in His Store. The Kids run the fazebook from their home.

They also have a fazebook page if anyone wants to check it out.

Gave one to my great nephew a couple of years ago. Purchased at Walmart in rural Virginia. Great gun and my nephew became a good shot almost instantly. I already have a .22 in mind for him when he gets older.

I had one as a child that we got second hand, and someone had obviously replaced the spring with one that was MUCH stiffer as it shot much much harder than my brother’s. There were thick glass bottles that would deflect his BBs, but mine would go right in like I was shooting a .22.

The original Daisy Red Ryder was a quality air gun. The current version is a cheaply-made piece of crap, made in China.

Bought one for my son to teach him how to shoot and realized that the design was changed (no removable barrel) and had plastic parts and flimsy construction and within a couple of sessions, jammed up forever.

Never had one as a kid. Bought myself one for Christmas a couple years ago. Squirrels that raid my bird feeders now fear me ;o)~

I live in Arkansas, doreen the road from the walmart headquarters.

What else is founded and headquartered here? Daisy airguns.

They’ve always been the first place to get the daisy.
