Hi Dennis! To put it in a nutshell that you can copy/paste for your sister and brother in law, I’ll recap here. I am 60 you and probably 20lbs over weight when I bought the
Pro-Form stationary cycle with the iFit app. I have CKD and congenital heart issues, so my nephrologist put me on to this bike in order to lose weight, clear the arteries, and b create micro blood vessels through this aerobic exercise.

After two months now, at about 3-4 sessions per week, I’ve lost 8 lbs and have gained strength and energy. The wifi enabled screen let’s users select either live classes (which I’ve only done one) or follow a trainer on roads and bike paths all over the world (see my list, so far!).

The program lets you choose between Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced classes. I’ve only done the Beginner, and they’re good enough, for sure. The program automatically adjusts the resistance so, if you’re climbing a hill with the trainer person, you’ll feel it! Bottons on the video monitor allow you to increase or decrease resistance at any time. I’ve only used it to increase. After, the computer will remember your selection and add that same level to your future rides.

The trainers are pro bike racers and talk you through each course. They give little tips on real world cycling, motivation, coaching, and bits about the geographical area they are in!

My courses are about 20 to 47 minutes, depending on what I select, based on how I feel that day or how much time I have.

The cost of the Pro-Form bike is FREE with purchase of 3 years IFit coaching, which I think was about $1.350 total. (My cost estimate in previous posts were wrong.) The bike takes two poeple to assemble but I did it by myself. It took 40 minutes and was easy.

Again, I’m NOT an aerobic kind of person. I prefer lifting weights. However, this has been a lot of fun and very rewarding so far. I’ll get a blood test in December for my CKD and see if my numbers are improving, but my BP is much lower, in the 120’s from 140’s.

Thanks, I will send this to them. Thanks for taking the time! I will let you know what happens with them. My sister and BIL.

# Will you run out of locations and have to start repeating them?
# Can you shoot me the URL that shows the list of bicycling locations
# You got the bike with the 22” LED screen?

I have 2 more questions for later

The program automatically adjusts the resistance so, if you’re climbing a hill with the trainer person, you’ll feel it! Buttons on the video monitor allow you to increase or decrease resistance at any time.

A bit like the treadmill fast-walking I do. The video has me walking through a national park in our SW. As the incline increases, I push a button to slow down the treadmill slightly. Incline decreases, I speed up the treadmill.

###### Top Peloton trainers are getting wealthy. Making up to a million a year. They work independently of the Peloton company that sells the bikes and videos.

The Big Business of Being a Peloton Instructor
https://time.com/6187968/peloton-instructors-money-famous/

During halftime at a Brooklyn Nets game in December, a cluster of 20- and 30-something women made a beeline for the court. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were there, sitting in prime seats, but the couple wasn’t their target. These women were hoping to take a picture with Ally Love, the team’s in-arena host. Love, one of Peloton’s most popular instructors, flashed a smile at the group and made a gesture suggesting they could huddle in the stands as she introduced a breakdancing team. They did so dutifully. Even after the game resumed, they kept hovering around her.

Love, a former dancer, was already working with both the Nets and Adidas when she joined Peloton as a cycling instructor in 2016, but since then, her opportunities have grown significantly. She has partnered with Nissan, NARS, and massage-device maker Therabody. She’s also built her own brand, and fans can purchase $25 socks or $78 sweatpants with the Love Squad logo on her website. She recently spent time in London hosting an upcoming Netflix dance competition. “I’ve opted into the slash generation,” she says, referring to the phenomenon of millennials with multiple income streams. “I can get a little impatient if I’m doing the exact same thing every day.”
