Chicken bones cause so much damage because they splinter apart, and you can imagine what having splinters in your belly might feel like!

We have a large grocery store just inside Hamilton (Fortinos) and the butchers have the meat hanging behind glass walls and you can watch them cut it. Well, the butcher saves us all of the bones (no charge), mostly knuckle, but some pretty large bones with meat on them most times.
Every week we pick up a couple of big bags of them - between my son-in-law and my son, there’s five large dogs.
