The power went out on my block the other day, and even though it meant being without electricity, the internet and heat on a chilly morning, it was worth it because it also meant my neighbors couldn't operate their annoying inflatable Halloween display.
I hate Halloween. I know I'm not the only one.
SNIP
Officials at the South Orange and Maplewood School District sent out a letter to parents explaining why they would not be allowing in-class Halloween festivities. Administrators said that doing away with costumes in school would further the district's commitment to equity and inclusion among students.

I guess if he lived in New Orleans he would hate Mardi Gras.
Tell kids they can’t celebrate halloween.
Force same students to celebrate sodomy.
Halloween is a European tradition. All things White or Judeo/Christian must be eliminated.
Halloween is fun. Good movies, dressing up, crashing from sugar…
The way of the Rat
I have fond memories of Halloween past, the store bought Charlie Brown costume, I constantly tripped over, putting cork on the range as make up to provide a beard, for my pirate costume, having a paper bag full of candy during a rain storm and the bottom of the bag falls out and half the candy fell down the sewer drain.
Good times.
At least Pennywise wasn’t waiting in the sewer…
I remember being around 11 and a girl/woman answered the door.
She was dressed up as a “nurse”. Fond memories…
From the excerpt I can extract two pieces of information:
Leonard Greene is a miserable, sour Leftist.
“Equity and inclusion” here means “just in case some kid can’t afford a costume, we’ll ruin the enjoyment of the holiday for everyone else”.
But it’s still ok for boys to dress up as girls.
It’s a religious holiday. I guess some religions are more equal than others.
Tomorrow is All Saints Day…
I suppose some aho politician will want to change the name to Indigenous Ghosts Day and the kids will just walk around beating on transparent tom toms.
Article is behind a paywall, but reading South Orange and Maplewood, I assumed it was about a NJ school district.
With a little imagination (yeah, I know ...) one can make a passable "costume" out of regular clothes and a few carefully chosen toys.
True, but it wouldn’t be “equitable” to the kids who buy elaborate store-bought costumes, and the school is ass-u-me-ing that the kids with homemade costomes will feel inferior.
And the old standby of the “Hobo” costume is so passe these days, you know...
Anyone expressing “Hate” over a kid’s holiday is too stupid to be taken seriously.
I’m guessing they are pandering to the muslims.
