All I know is that we put HCQ on our standard orders in February 2020 (as did the Harvard and U. of Washington systems), we used it through June 2020, and saw no effect.
In fact, I kept it up a month after those august institutions had stopped, but once the action of dexamethasone +/- baricitinib or tocilizumab was obvious, as was the lack of effect of HCQ, I stopped as well.
The question isn’t efficacy or lack thereof.
