No way, really? Well, even before knowing that I pity the poor guy that married her if she ever got married.

Nonetheless, America before the Beatles phenomenon was a better place.
I know. I was there. Before the Kennedy assassination for sure. The Beatles
first American concert wasn't until 1964, about the same time as their
Ed Sullivan appearance.
None of us in flyover America had a clue who the Beatles were until then.
As the vernerable Romans used to say ‘De gustibus non est disputandum’.
I never cared for the Beatles. Ever. They were subtraction not addition (IMHO).

The beatniks, rock and roll, Playboy, Mad magazine, the Supreme Court, television, Hollywood and the anti-hero, advertising, and marketing to kids, doctors, and the medicated mother and wives, Masters and Johnson, Kinsey Report, new child-rearing books, national unions for teachers, etc. there were so many corrupting influences.

The Warren Court was an abomination. Yes, many of the things you mention do predate the Beatles, and they were all bad. Good point.

Klaus Ogermann, who was Gore’s arranger working under producer Quincy Jones. The song was written by John Madara and David White, one of the Brill Building teams. White was part of Danny & the Juniors, and he later teamed with DJ Ray Gilmore of WIBG and another to form the Spokesmen.

I had only heard Klaus Nomi from Rush Limbaugh, but he has an amazing vocal range.

I like Klaus Nome’s version the best. Rush used it as one of his update themes. Had a good voice on him.
