I feel for the Ukrainian people that which I’d feel for any sovereign people invaded by a powerful bully: let them be the ones to decide whether surrender is the best policy for themselves, but if they are prepared to fight then assist them.

Oh you silly little man, I think 10s of millions of invaders, with an estimated 5 million in the 3 years of the Biden illegitimate presidency, are a far more dangerous invasion then that of Putin's. The financial burden alone is a disaster to this nation.

That's another issue, you all can't seen to decide if he is powerful or weak, because you say both when you find it convenient to make him weak or powerful to push your incoherent narratives.

Had we made Ukraine honor the Minsk Accords and the terrorism being deployed against the Russian speaking Ukrainians ceased there is no evidence that Putin would have invaded Ukraine to begin with. No war casualties, no land loss except the Crimea that Russia took from the Ottoman Empire to begin with and has had control of it for centuries.

When the U.S.S.R. tried to place nuclear weapons in Cuba, was Kennedy justified in threatening the U.S.S.R. with a military conflict or not? He was justified & the U.S.S.R. backed down.

Well, after having been guaranteed that NATO would not expand to nations that bordered Russia back when Clinton was president, we kept pushing more & more countries in eastern Europe into NATO. Putin said Georgia & Ukraine were red lines that Russia would not tolerate as NATO members. He offered instead to become a part of NATO which the U.S. rejected because what would be the purpose of NATO in their eyes. Had you actually listened to the video I linked you to twice, you would have learned why they pushed for these eastern Europe nations to become NATO members. But that was too much of an effort for you because on top of not being bright, you are lazy as well.

They foolishly didn't see that China was a threat, & Russia & China were hardly friends material as far as they could see.

But Biden himself said that Russia needs to depose Putin & Russia needs to be broken up. When you threaten someone directly, you leave them no option but to take action.

But Sweden & Finland remaining neutral worked well, even when the U.S.S.R. existed, so why are they poking the bear now? Why would they not maintain the neutrality? It's only when they threaten to join NATO that Russia even speaks in threatening tones to them. Could it be that Covid negatively impacted them financially like all nations were hit in the same manner? So, why wouldn't they take advantage of the U.S. taxpayer like everyone else does?

Your comments in the second paragraph are not germane. What I want or demand or pray for is irrelevant to the countries in Russia’s path.

Oh yes they are germane, because what you want affects everyone else in this nation, but your pea sized brain hasn't apparently figured that out. You affect the poorest people the most, but you also affect others. The majority of Americans have had enough of the begging homo-globalist Zelenskyy coming and basically demanding we pay for everything in Ukraine including the pensions of Ukrainians.

This becomes glaring more evident as the invasion continues along our southern border primarily. Even the New York liberals are becoming fed up with the invasion of these thugs into their communities.

That makes me a Reaganite, not a neo-con.

You remind me of the neo-cons that have taken over the Reagan Library, which Reagan would be devastated to see are now controlling his legacy. Let me guess you were a Democrat Reaganite back then, right? That is exactly what a neo-con is. They were all Democrats who became disillusioned by the Democrat Party, so they invaded the Republican Party which has been is disarray for decades now because of the control the Rockefeller's wielded in the party with their moderate approach. The country-club set had to maintain an air of superiority over the unwashed members of both parties after all.

You’ll forgive me, but your response seems extremely long winded.

Your responses are not well thought out.

“Pretty %#@! sad.”

Going into a conflict under thinking what is out there is a lot like Custer. And you see what it got him. You don’t seem to start to understand the size and preparation of the Arab terror groups that include Hamas.

As we speak, Lebanon’s Hezbollah is poised on Israel’s northern border with an arsenal of some 150,000 missiles and rockets. So far, Hezbollah has not joined in a major assault on Israel, but Israeli analysts fear it could do so once Israeli ground forces enter the Gaza Strip. A two-front conflict would be a nightmare for Israel. Tack that on to support with weapons and supplies from the many countries I have mentioned through the Egyptian tunnels and you won’t be able to count the casualties.

Known in the U.S. military as “Phase IV,” this is where U.S. efforts in both Afghanistan and Iraq foundered badly for lack of preparation and resources. Israeli media have reported that the government has been struggling to come up with a Phase IV plan of its own. And no wonder: there are no good options. If Israel simply attacks Hamas and then leaves—as it has done in the past—the terrorist organization will be able to regenerate itself. But Israel has had little desire to reoccupy the Gaza Strip after exiting in 2005, and the Palestinian Authority seems to lack the capabilities and will to govern in place of Hamas. Trying to establish a Palestinian Authority government in Gaza, with help from Arab states, is probably the least-bad option. But if that fails, Israel may have no choice but to occupy Gaza itself. That, in turn, could leave Israeli soldiers vulnerable to a grinding guerrilla war of the kind they faced in Lebanon between 1982 and 2000. 18 years of Israeli soldiers dying. That’s almost an entire generation of deaths.

You have an idea that there is an end to this. The attempts at invading Israel and killing the Jews has been going on since the creation of Israel in 1948. Right now on the ground in Gaza is Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah ready to go. But there’s something else there...approximately 214,000 Jewish settlers live in the West Bank and Gaza, according to the Foundation for Middle East Peace in Washington, D.C. And the thousands of tourists and business people from Israel, make it a formidable amount of lives that are in harm’s way. You can’t draw straws as to who will be used by Hamas or who lives and dies. So you can figure over a quarter of a million people are in the crosshairs when Israel goes in balls to the walls. It just ain’t that easy.

Thank you for you excellent common sense analysis.

Only problem is that you have no evidence of that being the desired goal. Putin has not really shown much aggression. The president of Georgie asked Putin to intervene. Chechnya was employing terroristic tactics against Russia. Heck, the U.S declared war against terrorism. Well, not officially, but the same affect nonetheless.

Transnistria is a stretch no matter how you look at it. Russia didn't invade to create that situation, it was an inborn issue all along.

Both of you are hypocrites that fail to see our own indiscretions, because we are the good guys. If we really were the good guys, the world would love us. But in far too many instances we are just as bad & evil as the worst amongst us. We have lorded our hegemony around the world making more enemies & being nothing but bullies in the process. Actually examining ourselves can be a painful undertaking when it is done in earnest. Trump has made us look at ourselves, and while we do a lot of good around the world, we are a bully and not necessarily a bully that is either good or righteous.

Ukraine is an excellent example of when we are acting like a bad nasty bully. We are more than willing to carry on the conflict down to the last Ukrainian. Those aren't my words, those are words uttered by several people throughout this current administration.

Zelenskyy is not a great example of a leader to promote Democratic principles either, as he abandons those like he does his soiled drawers.

Well, you don't even realized that you just exposed your total ignorance. It's not hard to lose those who can't debate when facts are presented. But the facts will make you see what you really are. I hope you are well armed, otherwise, I'll pray for your safety. Because apparently you are so divorced from reality that you do not see the deterioration that is destroying this nation from within, thanks to clueless people such as yourself.

You are a fraud.

Au revoir. Appelle-moi quand tu développes un cerveau pensant.

In football, there are penalties for late hits and pilling on. Democrats do it all the time. Reagan defeated the Soviet Union leading to its break-up. To gain some glory, Democrats want to defeat and break-up Russia.

Quite the opposite in reality. Macron even said it out loud: “Russia must be humiliated in Ukraine”. The globalists want to keep Russia intact so they can continue partnering with Putin on a range of issues from Iran to energy. They are America hating peas in a pod and agree on far more than they disagree.

Just a friendly suggestion: since political analyses is obviously not your forte you might want to stick to chess.

I just watched the Tucker Carlson interview of Col Macgregor. I thought it was very good and well worth the time to watch. I don’t know that I agree with all of it, why would I? You don’t have agree (or disagree) with everything someone says, in order to have a reasoned discussion.

By my count, eight people have made posts that indicated that they watched the interview. Most said this article mis-represented the interview. None said that it correctly represented the interview. Having watched the interview, I too will say that the posted article mis-represented the interview. Watch it and decide for yourself.

From the first paragraph of the article: “Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and his guest, retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor ... suggested that the world’s only Jewish-majority state was committing “war crimes” by bombing Gaza.”

That is misleading at best. I think it qualifies as a lie. The article reflects badly on the source and should never have been posted here at FreeRepublic.

There is a lot in the interview. As merely a small part of the interview Macgregor looks to a time in the future when Israel kills people in Gaza who are not (in fact or in presentation on the nightly news) members of Hamas. When that happens Israel will be accused of war crimes. Any doubts on this?

Niki Haley said emphatically that Israel should “end Hamas.” Perhaps she meant “now” (next month or two?). If one assumes that Israel is omniscient and omnipotent, that makes sense. Short of that, you will have collateral damage. It’s not like the Israeli police can safely and openly travel the streets of Gaza, apprehend suspects and bring them in for a jury trial.

You can bomb Gaza but you will kill innocent civilians. You can send in the Israeli army into Gaza. They will be shot at and will return fire. Again, innocent civilians will be killed. Israel will be accused of war crimes. Will the Biden administration provide moral support when that happens? Many of the war proponents on FR will flip and say the Israel “went too far.”

I support a one-state solution with the elimination of Gaza. You can call me the ultimate hawk. Biden says he supports a two-state non-solution. Out policies are a muddle. Carlsen and Macgregor try to think ahead.

Perhaps Israel should have responded immediately, fast and hard with a massive bombing or Gaza. Like Hamas, they would deliver the world with a fait accompli. A President Trump would then urge a cool-down period, which would ensue.

Ronald Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’” The message Israel is receiving is similar, I’m President Biden and we’re here to help.

Macgregor points out that Hamas and Hezbollah have infrastructure in Mexico, and possibly in the US. Whatever else we do, we should secure our own borders.

Did you catch this quote from McGregor?

“In the last 24 hours or so, some of our Special Ops forces and Israeli Special Ops forces went into Gaza to reconnoiter, to plan for where they might want to go to free hostages and make an impact, and they were shot to pieces and took heavy losses, as I understand it,”

He is either right or he is mistaken. So what?

Did you even watch the entire Carlson-Macgregor video? Or did you rely on fabulations from Mediaite?
