During Covid my one daughter was getting $1500 per month. It is based on income with a subtraction of household bills. Where she lives her rent is $2,200 for a 3 bedroom. Her husband works full time, but inflation is a killer. Especially with the price of housing and fuel. He walks to work, and is picked up after. That’s what the spike in housing prices brought them. Double the cost of rent, and fuel is near double. Under Trump fuel was in the 3 buck range, today it is close to 5. If a person loses their domicile, you are so screwed. I think they pay about $7K to move last time.
Whereas I always lived in a house after I reached the age of 22, many live in apartments with house payment sized rents.
