ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - An Orlando woman filed a lawsuit against a Chick-fil-A location this week after she claimed to have eaten a chicken nugget with "black" meat, according to court records.
Shi'Terra Sharp filed the lawsuit in Orange County on Thursday regarding the issue that happened in January 2020. Sharp said she bought chicken nuggets from the location at 13143 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville and ate them at home.
As she was eating the chicken nuggets, she said the meat was "black" in color, according to the lawsuit.
Sharp became "violently ill" with nausea, cramps and diarrhea, the lawsuit states, adding that she "sustained great injury" to her mouth, throat, stomach and digestive system. She said she "underwent great pain and suffering for some time." The lawsuit also said she was diagnosed with gastrointestinal illnesses.
You can read the lawsuit below.
This happened in January of 2020? I’d throw it right out of court and censor the lawyer for wasting the court’s time.
If true, restaurant should be liable.
But, I worked food service in my youth. Customers would repeatedly pull scams like bringing in their own worms / maggots to put into the salad, claiming the food was tainted so they could collect. OTOH, a friend working at McD’s asserted that if you drive through at 11:30pm and ask for McNuggets, you’re probably getting the ones that fell behind the frier earlier that day. The moral of this story is to never trust anything in the fast food industry, on either side.
was it tested? what was the meat?
Very strange name. Who would name their kid Shi’terra? Can you imagine all the joking she went through growing up?
It’s called dark meat for a reason.
She wanted a payday though, not just a replacement order of nuggets
She must not have EVER eaten Chinese food!
Well at least they didn’t name her Etset’Terra.
I got food poisoning sick from Panda Express years ago. I used to love the place.
It never dawned on me to wait 4 years and sue. I just never went back.
It’s like those who got drunk on tequila......once.
EC
They most certainly would have replaced the order at no charge, and probably have given her comps. Her lawyer should be disbarred for wasting court time.
The more the better? You really have to ask yourself,
What on Earth...
... was her mother thinking?
Best if she doesn't book at the Lil Al'e'Inn.
She might even run across Cousin Eddie!
Black that-wasn't-chicken nuggets would be the least of her problems.
When you eat at any fast food joint the risk is all the same.
Parts is Parts.
