Are you one of those people that just goes and plays and never practices? I’m not knocking it, some of the best pressure players I know are like that. Bubba Watson is like that. As your non-sanctioned remote gold star golf coach, I suggest you practice putting - a lot. If you can still hit the long irons or a solid 4 or 5 wood, no need to move to the senior tees. Do people even use long irons anymore now that they have those “utility” clubs?
I ended 2021 as a 12.4 index. Up until then I'd fluctuate from 10-15. I got covid hard the beginning of 2022 and haven't been the same - golf-wise - since.
I'm retired and my better angel works out of the house... so...
We played out doors up until Thanksgiving. I hit the practice facilities starting last December (indoors) twice a week. Took a lesson.
Played a round in January, couple of rounds in February and about 10 rounds in march.
This season, up until about end of july-ish. i was outdoors at least twice a week - 2 Hr sessions at a time...mostly irons and short game...took another lesson.
I have 86 rounds posted this year.
Playing as a single I can't post a score, so I have another 15 or so rounds played plus whatever I played before this season started. Last week I switched back to the blades.
My putting is half way decent....(except when it's not - 3-putt bogeys are at inopportune times are killing me.) I played 9 Saturday and had 14 putts, was 1 over after 4(with a double on the 2nd hole) - took a 9 on two holes an shot a 50.
I just yesterday bought a 28 degree rescue club. I'm going to adios the 5 or the 6 iron.
I need to change my set-up. My draw is gone, but I'm still setting up for it.
I need to figure out how to keep the ball in the yard.
I need to hit more greens.
I need to reduce the 3-putts.
And I need a different mind-set. I haven't seen a flag-stick I didn't like .(sigh)
Other than that...I love it !!
