Day 605 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine continues.
The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, and attacks both military and civilian targets.
During the day of October 21, there were 68 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 4 missile and 33 air strikes, more than 24 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements.
Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Private houses, apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.
The operational situation in east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
VOLYN and POLISSYA AXIS: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.
SIVERSHCHYNA and SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA AXIS: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues to shell Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. About 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Starykove, Bilopillya (Sumy oblast), Hatyshche, Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).
KUPYANSK AXIS: Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 10 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Synkivka Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Nadiya (Luhansk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast).
LYMAN AXIS: the Ukrainian defense forces repelled around 10x enemy attacks in the vicinity of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Serebryanske forestry and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Nevske, Makiyivka, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).
BAKHMUT AXIS: the Ukrainian defenders repelled all adversary attacks in the vicinities of Vasyukivka and Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast). The adversary launched air strike in the vicinities of Klishchiyivka and New York (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriyivka, Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast).
AVDIYIVKA AXIS: the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with air support in the vicinities of Avdiyivka, Keramik, Stepove, Tonenke, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). The Ukrainian defenders repelled around 15 enemy attacks in the area. Also, the adversary launched air strikes near Novobakhmutivka and Novokalynove (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiyivka, Sjeverne, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).
MARYINKA AXIS: the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinities of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka and Pobjeda (Donetsk oblast). The Ukrainian defense forces repelled more than 20 enemy attacks in the area. Also, the occupiers launched an air strike near Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.
SHAKHTARSKE AXIS: the Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks near Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiors’ke (Donetsk oblast). The invaders launched an air strike near Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.
ZAPORIZHZHIA AXIS: the Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack north of Pryyutne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The occupiers launched air strikes near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
KHERSON AXIS: the occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Burhunka, Mykolaivka, Tyahynka, Ivanivka (Kherson oblast). The settlements of Sadove, Stanislav (Kherson oblast) and the city of Kherson came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
At the same time, the Ukrainian defense forces continue offensive operations in the Melitopol axis, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
During the day of October 21, Ukrainian Air Force launched 12 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment of the russian invaders.
The missile troops hit 1 radar station, 1 ammunition depot, 1 anti-air missile system, 2 concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment and 5 artillery systems of the occupiers.

In recent days, due to the intensification of hostilities, there has been a significant increase in casualties among Russian troops and equipment. This is especially noticeable in the area of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, which the occupiers are persistently trying to capture, says a Ukranian military and political expert of the Information Resistance Group, Oleksandr Kovalenko in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
“After the Russians began their offensive near Avdiivka, we continue to assess their losses from previous days because not everything can be counted right away. They have suffered quite significant losses both in terms of equipment and personnel, which were not previously possible to document.”
Furthermore, the enemy has resumed offensive actions on the Lyman-Kupyansk line. Therefore, according to the expert, the Russians have also incurred serious losses there, including in the direction of Makiivka and beyond. Kovalenko notes that there is currently a de-escalation of hostilities along the entire front line. The Russians are also facing problems on the left bank of the Kherson region. So, all of this, in conjunction with previous days, has resulted in a cumulative effect of significant losses for the enemy.
The expert adds that on the left bank of the Kherson region, there are currently operations of a diversionary and reconnaissance nature. “This is not a large-scale offensive with tanks or APCs. There is no large foothold to launch a wide-scale offensive from. There are diversionary and reconnaissance groups that conduct regular raids. This started a year ago after the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region,” Kovalenko explains.
