Flame away
Not a bad song. You should not get flamed but it doesn’t take much here
Not my favorite beach boys song but it’s up there. And you should check out the Susan Cowsill version of this song on YouTube. It’s awesome.

Great tune. Brian Wilson wrote some of it along with some other people. Not sure all who wrote what. Blondie Chaplin sang it. Song was squeezed into the album at last minute because the execs demanded a single.
I’ve always loved this song. I’ve been playing it a lot recently on my guitar thinking about putting a cover out, but who could touch the BB’s version when it comes to the vocals?
Ray Charles nailed it.
Interestingly, this never made the Top 40 during its chart run, but it has become a fixture on the playlists of Oldies stations.
Live 50th Anniversary Tour with Brian Wilson on lead vocals and piano.

Not my favorite Beach Boys song - far prefer Sloop John B from Pet Sounds:
So hoist up the John B’s sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the captain ashore, let me go home
Let me go home
I wanna go home, yeah, yeah
Well, I feel so broke up
I wanna go home
Folk song from the Bahamas, popularized by poet Carl Sandburg. BBs’ version is very similar to the Kingston Trio’s in ‘58.
‘Barbara Ann’ was pretty much the same arrangement as the Regents in ‘61.
Some people can just own songs regardless of the song’s origin.
