To my understanding Israeli Jews still have to serve in the IDF, although I think some groups of Jews are exempt. Israel does not conscript Muslim or Christian Israelis, although they may volunteer to serve. Druze and Circassian man are required to serve in the IDF.
Like I said before, I wonder if the lack of small arms for defensive use for the citizenry is because of demographics, and not simply lib garbage juice about guns.
