Watch his specials. The one and only sour note is when he morphs into smug atheist for about 5 minutes in Supernatural. The rest of the show is, well, he's the best stand-up guy right now; Dave would be but you just never know what you're gonna get. And Ron White is semi-retired, only doing like 4 dates this year within a 4-hour bus trip from his house to Oklahoma casinos.
Gervais' brand-new stand-up show Armageddon is apparently even better.
Tom Segura is also good.
