I am ways suspicious when I read of “amazing teen” or “amazing youth.”

How many times has the media propped up an “amazing teen” who in enter a free energy device or solved unsolvable math problems (trisecting an angle pops up every couple years.).

Lately I am seeing more and more women being pushed to a conductor’s role. That and commercial pilots. And YouTube is pushing these videos into people’s feeds. If I were a musician I would refuse to perform under a female conductor.

What do conductors do?

Pressure attractive young female musicians into having sex with them or getting negative professional references and untrue gossip about getting cut from the orchestra.

Many years ago I went to a performance by the Houston Symphony and the conductor turned out to be…..a butch lesbian named Marin Alsop. Had never heard of her until then. A butch lesbian in a pantsuit conducting Beethoven. Ugghh.

Those meth heads trying to steal copper grounding cables at electrical substations make good conductors.

In this particular case, Alma Deutscher and her parents "do" promote the heck out of her. Been doing it for years. She's talented, but time tells all things. Promotion.

Hans Keller had observed that there were two redundant kinds of musicians, violists and conductors. (And some others around that subject). Here's a bit of his view, and some criticism of criticism:

And here's a bit of her marketing:

She is a violin prodigy, and should stick to being a violin prodigy.

My daughter’s band director once grabbed the star quarterback out of the audience and taught him to be a guest conductor. Ceiling-floor-wall-wall.
