I can only say that I prefer non-subscription software that comes on DVDs. I prefer Microsoft Office because of Word and Outlook. I recently installed a copy of 2016 Office which had a hiccup of some sort, so I chose to repair it online. However, Microsoft didn’t repair it, it wiped it out and replaced it with 365. Definitely did not appreciate my calendar with bill due dates disappearing. There was no indication that 365 was going to hijack what I now have to reinstall.
I also use Open Office which is similar enough but doesn’t have an email element. The Writer part seems to work well enough for my purposes which don’t require bells or whistles either.
my emails are a whole other thing...so I do not need Microsoft Office for emails, or even for back up
I purchase Office online, my own copy, DVDs delivered every couple years. It’s not a license that expires, or subscription (shudder!). A true, legal, ownership.
You do need a MS online account to activate it, but otherwise it’s mine-o-mine.
Just got MS Office Premium for around...$130? iirc. Gateway pundit periodically asvertises it on their site. Maybe do a search there? But Amazon also, just search for MS Office Premium. Get the DVD hard copy ownership version. Watch out for scams, and MS trying to sell you 365 (ugh!).
Has all the programs in the suite. Like 8 of them.
The only way to go, imo.
