The U.S. State Department on Thursday issued a worldwide alert to Americans overseas due to the potential for terrorist attacks, coming in the midst of heightened tensions in the Middle Ease due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
"Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution," the alert said.
It then advised U.S. citizens to remain alert in locations frequented by tourists, enroll in the agency's travel program, and follow the agency on social media to receive alerts and updates. Other details were not provided.

Ah yes - I remember the gas lines of the 1970s very well.
I was a teenage buddding young capitalist in those days.
I and my pals set up a table along the roadside near a line of cars waiting in line for fill-ups at a local gas station.
We had several coolers filled with ice cold sodas and bottled water.
We sold them and bags of chip to the frustrated and thirsty & hungry motorists.
(Those were very hot summer days, you see.)
But our mark-up of the refreshments was quite reasonable.
We didn't price-gouge the unfortunates....
