I had a good friend who was a Chief on a sub that I got on board a couple of times, and I used to spend time at one of the Horse and Cow bars.
Submariners are strange guys about space, you can be having a conversation with a submariner and he suddenly goes off into his own private zone totally blocking out the rest of the world.
To be a “blatant lie,” it has to be material. So the British didn’t operate the tug boat. So the British didn’t fire the torpedo. Big deal. They got others to do it for them, so Eden and Churchill’s hands weren’t soiled. But it was done at their behest.
That’s like saying Hillary didn’t “suicide” Epstein. Of course not. She had others do that for her. Same thing.
“Rum, sodomy and the lash.” —Winston Churchill, twice First Lord of the Admiralty
I’ll take the rum, you can have the rest.
Wow, you admit you were lying, Turkey towed the ship, and after trying to work on it for weeks to send it on its way they left it, and a Russian submarine spotted it and sank it.
So what did you post? “””it wasn’t even a British ship, torpedoed after the British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea. Couldn’t allow anyone to disembark, for fear they might somehow make it from Turkey to Mandatory Palestine. Britannia ruled the waves, all right.”””
blatant lie:
“When you do something blatantly, you do it obviously, without trying to hide it. You might blatantly lie to your boss if you don’t care about getting in trouble. Something done or said blatantly is bold and shameless.”
“So what did you post? “””it wasn’t even a British ship, torpedoed after the British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea. Couldn’t allow anyone to disembark, for fear they might somehow make it from Turkey to Mandatory Palestine. Britannia ruled the waves, all right.”
The British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea.
Wait a minute, the tug boat was Turkish. Liar!
Al Capone perpetrated the Valentine’s Day Massacre.
Wait a minute, the hit men were his trusted torpedoes. Liar!
Same difference. Not even a lie, blatant or otherwise.
LOL, You lied when you tried to tell people that the British towed the ship out into the Black Sea and sank it, and making sure that no one survived.
Instead, Turkey towed a ship out, worked on it for weeks, abandoned it, and a Russian sub sunk the ship.
A Turkish tug boat towed the ship out, at the behest of the British. Had they been able to repair the boat, the British would have preferred it, but they couldn’t, so they had to get rid of it, not because they couldn’t take in the refugees, but because the British let them know they had a problem with it. Therefore, they towed it to a place where a Russian sub would eliminate the problem.
“You lied when you tried to tell people that the British towed the ship out into the Black Sea and sank it, and making sure that no one survived.”
Except I did not try to tell people any such thing. Now you are lying. Here are my exact words:
The MV Struma went down with 800 on board, including refugees and crew, and it wasn’t even a British ship, torpedoed after the British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea.
Nowhere do I say that it was a British sub. I said it “was torpedoed,” not speculating as to who did the torpedoing. If it was Russia, that still doesn’t change the fact that the British were behind it. Leaving a derelict ship in the middle of the Black Sea is one thing. Leaving it overcrowded with refugees in the Black Sea where submarines were looking for targets is as good as firing the torpedo yourself.
Nowhere did I say that they made sure no one survived. In fact one man did somehow survive, and four licensed (by the British) Palestine immigrants were allowed to disembark in Istanbul. The sole survivor was also permitted to immigrate.
Menachem Begin wrote in Revolt! that the British were willing to save the life of any individual Jew, but were against saving the entire Jewish Nation. This is yet another example of this principle at work.
Churchill was a great man. I admire him greatly and read all I can about him. But this was not his finest hour, and it’s on either him or Eden, if not both.
“””The MV Struma went down with 800 on board, including refugees and crew, and it wasn’t even a British ship, torpedoed after the British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea. You and truth are not friendly with each other.
You and truth are not friendly with each other.
The MV Struma was registered in Romania. Not British. True. The British hauled it out to the middle of the Black Sea, using a Turkish tug boat. Same difference. True. Nobody was allowed to disembark except for the four licensed immigrants. OK. You got me there. Four were permitted to disembark. The rest were not, and were hauled out to the Black Sea at the behest of the British using a Turkish tug boat, where they were torpedoed, as was intended. All true.
I know to never trust your version of anything.
I know not to GAGS for your opinion on anything. So believe. Don’t believe. Don’t tune in. Join Salon. Whatever.

D-o-v-e is a bird of the pigeon family. The past tense of "to dive" is "dived."
