The exact makeup of Luxon's government is still to be determined as ballots continued to be counted.

Luxon arrived to rapturous applause at an event in Auckland. He was joined on stage by his wife, Amanda, and their children, William and Olivia. He said he was humbled by the victory and couldn't wait to start his new job. He thanked people from across the country.

"You have reached for hope and you have voted for change," he said.

Supporters chanted his campaign slogan, which promised to get the country "back on track."

Outgoing Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, who spent just nine months in the top job after taking over from Ardern in January, told supporters late Saturday he had called Luxon to concede.

Hipkins said it wasn't the result he wanted.

All those Expats that moved to New Zealand made a pretty good choice. Especially if this guy straightens out the Kiwis. Liberal Jacinda was a bad idea.

Correct story is that NZ elects a Pro-COVID shot Moderate Christopher Luxon as PM a CINO.

Luxon pushed COVID shots coercion of his own people to get them just Mitch McConnell did here in the good old USA.

Luxon refused to talk to the people who came to Parliament to protest COVID jab coercion last year.

Mr. Luxon won because COVID destroyed the economy in NZ that about sums it up.

Has nothing to do with a “Conservative” winning it has to with Jacinda Ardern fornicating her nation’s economy with COVID drama.

I have no hope for those that would elect progressives. They are indoctrinated beyond repair. If they do manage to vote for a conservative, they are simply hoping for a moderate progressive. The daily barrage from their media and entertainment outlets will convince them to oust the conservative and “correctly” vote progressive.

Christopher Luxon might be more conservative than Bucktooth Ardern but that’s like saying Hillary Clinton is more conservative than Bernie Sanders.

This does not make Luxon an actual conservative.

When I visited NZ back in ‘96, locals were complaining that the Gov was way too liberal.
Most NV voters had decided to ignore politics altogether.
It was very common to do write-in for “Rusty Nails” and “Donald Duck”

For NZ and Australia, “conservative” is on par with a RINO squish.

There is nothing “liberal” about left wing socialists. They are in fact classic Fascists, espousing state authority over individual rights, speech they disagree with treated as a criminal offense, and a resort to street violence when they don’t get their way.
