“That’s too bad given it’s inexpensive.”
The expense is not the problem with misusing diabetic drugs. I use a product called Ozempic in addition to two types of insulin. When some idiot determined that Ozempic was great for weight loss, it is now extremely difficult to find it for diabetic use which is what it was invented for.
“Ozempic, known generically as semaglutide, was approved in 2017 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in adults with type 2 diabetes.
“Ozempic is a weekly injection that helps lower blood sugar by helping the pancreas make more insulin. It is not approved for weight loss, but some physicians prescribe it to be used for weight loss.”
So when the word gets around that metformin can be used to control inflammation and sugar levels for oral and systemic disease prevention, it will fly off the shelves and money won’t be an issue...finding it will. And then those who need it for diabetes 2 will be harmed and ultimately die from sugar damage and their escalated symptoms.

That’s because celebrities with eating disorders discovered it.
