Crimea was Ukrainian in 2014.

Texas used to be Mexican. So are you saying that Mexico should seize Texas now?

Even Old New York was once New Amsterdam.

Your logic skills are lacking. Redrawing a boundary on the edict of a Communist dictator, Khrushchev, did not make Crimea “Ukrainian” any more than my prior 3 examples would make Staten Island Jerseyan, Hudson County “New Yorkian” or the UP Wisconsinite. As a separate nation not under control of Moscow, it only remained there for 23 short years (unlike the Texas/Mexico example, for which the former has been separated for 187 years). The entire map of the former Soviet states should’ve been redrawn in 1991 to take into account ethnic divides and boundaries based on actual history rather than bolting for the sake of doing so (though it was understood why they did - fine for the short term, but not for the long term).

Think before you post.

You can always tell when fieldmarshaldj is about to ‘spin’ when he denotes his own subtext for a thread! LOL

Best to just ignore his comments as he usually circles his comments until he forgot what he was implying!

Eventually, you too will find his usual misinterpretation quite amusing. So, best to let him toddle off into little corner and ignore his comments. :)

Putin’s used pattern of “Transnistrian” policy that controls zones of ‘frozen conflicts’ in Moldova (Transnistria region), Georgia (Abkhazia and South Ossetia), and in Ukraine annexed Crimean peninsula and the Donbas. [his wider pattern uses separatist conflicts to create corruption and criminality as ‘Trojan horses’ to block progress in reform-minded periphery countries.]

PUTIN tactics are part of his geopolitical strategy to create conflict zones to prevent countries from entering NATO and integrating into the European Union. In this way, conflicts in post-Soviet countries are inflicted, fueled and kept frozen by Russia as part of PUTIN’S imperialistic plan to regain strategic points of HIS ‘lost empire.’

When PUTIN launched his more visible SECOND military invasion of Ukraine, the RUSSIAN PEOPLE were shocked!

ANTI-UKRAINE INVASION protests broke out [and continue] in Moscow, St. Petersburg & throughout over PUTIN Invasion of Ukraine. Cracks in the Kremblin now are appearing greater against Putin, families of military are actively protesting as an well as anti-Putin resistance group Russian Nationalist Army has been activated.

WILL ALL OF RUSSIA federation BE ABLE TO STOP PUTIN?
Who knows.
However, the world does not have to accept
‘world domination’ by the little Emperor
“PUTIN the THUG!”

“Crimea was Ukrainian in 2014.”

Ukrainian officials have marked the 77th anniversary of the Crimean Tatars’ Stalin-era deportations from Crimea to Central Asia by denouncing what they called their ongoing persecution by Russia.

Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula in March 2014 and backed separatists in two of its eastern provinces, sparking a war that has killed more than 13,000 people.

Crimean Tatars, rights activists, and Western governments say Russia has subjected Crimean Tatars and others who opposed annexation to abuse, discrimination, and politically motivated prosecution on false charges.

As Crimean Tatars marked the anniversary of the 1944 deportations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in a statement: “We will not forgive that 70 years [after the deportations] you were forced to leave your home again due to the Russian annexation.”

“And those of you who remain [in Crimea] are being persecuted and imprisoned by the occupation authorities,” Zelenskiy added.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Russia “continues to systemically suppress the Crimean Tatars.”
