More properly, it is the purposeful misinterpretation of data to futher the anti-vaxxer narrtive, a narrative that’s been around for hundreds of years. The same horror stories you’re reading about now are the functional equivalent of the same stories told about the smallpox vaccine in the late 1700s. Then the vaccines contained bat feces, now they contain poisons. Now the vaccines modify your DNA, then the vaccines would turn your into a cow. The point is, some have a visceral hatred of vaccines and will tell/believe all sorts of nonsense.

Many of the early vaccines (pre-1910) were not tested well and at least one caused more deaths than it cured.

The Covid vaccines were not tested to anywhere near the standard used just a few years before.
