While her attitude sucks, I can see both sides in this. I would never take a woman on a first date to any chain restaurant. If you live in a small town you may have limited choices, but in a City there are a plethora of choices. I am old as dirt but I think he should have put his best foot forward for the first date. A nice, quiet intimate restaurant gives you time to talk and get to know each other.

In his defense, a chain restaurant with a varied menu makes it more likely she will be able to order something she enjoys. You should avoid the "where do you want to eat...anywhere..okay let's get ___________...no I don't want that" argument until you are married. If I had that argument with my wife before we were married I would have left her at a bus stop😂. Seriously, Cheesecake Factory, while it is better than a mall food court or a buffet, is only one up from the Waffle House. You are right he should have asked what she preferred. On the other hand she should have went along with it to be polite.

He gets at her place to pick her up at the designated time, 4:00. Queen Bee doesn’t come out of her apartment until 5:00, there goes the reservation at the nicer restaurant. Cheesecake Factory is the backup plan.
