So what if a kid is bi-racial? Amber or Ebony? Who makes the determination of what is too light or too dark? What about Hispanic or Asian kids - should they get their own alert?
What next .... going back to these days?

A MISSING KID should be a MISSING KID. The media focuses on blond blue-eyed & does not give black kids the same coverage (or indigenous girls/women, for that matter). An “Ebony Alert” won’t solve that issue, IMO.

The Ebony Alert System was much needed about 50 years back in the 70’s, looking for all the missing black baby daddies. :(

I started to write a reply, but it got pretty long, so here’s my attempt at a shorter version. An Ebony Alert is throwing a bone at a significant issue: hey, look - we gave you your very own alert so problem. solved ... right? Wrong. It’s not just black kids, but indigenous girls/women, those engaged in sex work, anyone considered ‘inferior’, for whatever reason & lack of a better descriptive word. None deserve to be kidnapped, abused, killed, but getting the media & general populace to truly “care” & not dismiss/forget about these ‘fellow humans’, regardless of color, ethnicity, economic circumstances, etc. is a different story ... sorting by race, especially ‘black’ vs everyone else, is a step back, IMO.

If they think Amber alerts are ignored when the child is black then why in God’s name would this work? Those same racists they see behind every tree would now totally ignore this alert.
