My opinion, which carries no more weight than any other FR member’s post, is the following:
(1) While the immediate threat, as in the one posted for 13 October (tomorrow) is likely not high, the threat does exist. Thus the threat is high, but not its immediacy. (IMHO) HOWEVER, I recommend you and the family assume FPCON (AKA THREATCON) Bravo, otherwise known as Condition Orange in Coooper’s Colors for tomorrow. We know who the threat is, we do not underestimate their evil ferocity, and their willingness and eagerness to commit horrible acts is not in dispute. Might be a REALLY good day to keep the kids home (that bug is going around ya know ...) and stay away from malls, stadiums, govt buildings, etc. Re-check your get-home/ get-out plans and your 14-day family plan.
(2) the plausibility is very high for widespread ‘successful’ attacks. Given our gun laws, open borders, and public-policy refusal to consider “them” a threat, one should assume they have the motive, opportunity, intent, funding (means) and ‘leadership’ to carry out horrifically murderous and destructive terror acts. H3ll, if they can pull it off in Israel, the US is a cakewalk by comparison.
(3) Again, IMHO, they’ll do this closer to our elections. But world events might change my opinion. BUT! I am all but certain it’s a matter of when, not if they do this prior to our elections.
(4) The impacts will be catastrophic. Financial, social, Federal power grabs, violence in the streets, death and deprivation, etc etc. And no 3-4 day period for it to really kick in like as is often predicted in dystopian tomes, following an EMP or financial collapse, meteor strike, etc. - pick the Deus est machina of choice. ‘Our’ position, policy, plans and PRIOR actions add up to a posture of preparedness. ‘We’ recommend you do the same.
In this regard, *I* believe the two best professional, pragmatic, and scalable action plans and guides on this topic are written by Jonathan Hollerman - Survival Theory One, and Survival Theory Two. The first focuses on physical preparedness, the second on understanding and preparing for the human/social side of a post-catastrophe society.

Note well that his professional work has two focus areas:
(1) the US power grid and its vulnerability. While he writes fiction about nuclear HEMP, his non-fiction work embodies considerable focus on kinetic and cyber attacks on the grid and other infrastructure. Terrorists acts are part of his threat-realm.
(2) preparing for the collapse of 21st century civilization and society, regardless of the cause. His works in this area are best-in-class.
