I’ve lived in Florida for 30 years and it remains fit for mosquitos [11 months of 12] and gnats [after heavy rains for two days April-September] but far less so for me.
I would think the climate in the Florida panhandle should be about the same as the Alabama coast.

That’s about right. The panhandle of Florida and coastal Alabama are nearly the same.
