...1st class/LPO who speaks to the E-3 mafia and the sketchy operation gets done without any way to connect it back up the chain of command...

LOL

Long after I'd left, I was told that "My" Department Head referred to us as his personal Dirty Tricks Detail.

...oops, did I say "us"? Blew cover again, I guess.

(Sort of a good thing that so many of my generation seem to be dying off. Sure cuts down on loose lips.)

You old guys who “worked the edges” pretty much fell out of fashion with the need for the “loose lips” warning. The Bidum/BenedickAustin/SunMilley crew has gone direct. They hired at least three chicom spies and put them to work right in the spots where XI wanted them. Next we’ll hear Bidum will want me to give them a class on the important stuff——just go direct and skip all the sneakiness. Wouldn’t want them to lose any more subs because wangho miss read one of our tech manuals. Let me know if you hear our tech manuals are being printed in china——in Chinese?

As a side note I have a collection of unit memory books, printed by the staffs of various units as a way to remember what they done. I have a couple from Veetnam that were printed in Japan. Who knows where they tend to get printed now? The possibility ain’t that weird?
