My mother was our Girl Scout leader and drove one of our members home from a meeting one night. I was only around 8 or 9 yrs old and I was shocked by the sloth in the projects. Garbage everywhere, broken down cars on cinder blocks and some windows were boarded up. There were no flowers, no kept lawns, no pride really. There is a difference between people who had invested in something which gives them pride and the desire to keep it up and those who didn’t have to pay for something and often showed no respect for it.
Very sad and whoever is funding this needs to do a deep dive in Cabrini Green.
This will be a micro slum in 6 months.
I wonder if they will have matching micro schools.
