What is the purpose of that particular lyric? Is he saying that without religion the world would be some sort of paradise? That's what a lot of atheists think, but they're totally blind to the fact that most genocides and acts of barbarism in this world have nothing to do with religion. And some of them are even a result of this very same anti-religious sentiment.
