True enough. Consider communism, and the tens of millions of victims of communism. Communism is an officially atheistic ideology.
Great...now I have those nasally vocals bouncing around in my head...
“Instant Karma’s gonna get you...”
No, that Is War Is Over.
I think Lennon was saying “imagine” his simple idea of utopia. It was a song for the times. Dreams of peace should not pass on.
They will remain dreams. Mankind has, does, and will always practice enough evil to ruin everything. Song is a sad reminder of our helpless codition
Mr. Lennon himself was very rich. So his “no possessions” line was clearly a fantasy which he never strived to accomplish.
Oh, they play that one too, but they are also starting to play “Imagine” as well.
No, it was all over the news, and FR :)
Won't be playing that one this Winter, not with 2 or more Biden wars going on.
I wish Instant Karma on Hamas.
At Yoko's discretion. Literally organized, ordained, sanctioned by Yoko.
May Pang is absolutely the stellar opposite of Yoko in every positive way imaginable, except for Yoko's prowess with John's millions.
I keep imagining getting the royalty checks from my share of the revenue from Imagine to get here. I know it won’t be much since Lennon imagined sharing it will all the people living in the world but still.
*I had an experience that left me in utter detestation of Roger Waters, and I have never been able to listen to Pink Floyd since then...that was 2004.* Dementia-gotta be. He makes no sense.
According to Lennon’s childhood friend Pete Shotton, Lennon replied, “It’s just a fookin’ song” when Shotton asked him how he could write such a song as a millionaire living in New York and riding around in limousines. I don’t believe for a second that Lennon was a socialist.
Beautiful melody. Crap lyrics.
Oh. I thought it might be Klaus Schwab’s theme song...a gentler way of saying you will own nothing and you will like it.
