You seem determined to not understand the routine and ordinary practice of the United States military keeping supplies and equipment prepositioned around the world.

I don’t know how you thought we were going to fight the Soviets for example, we needed supplies to equip our 100,000s of troops that would hopefully survive the efforts to get to Europe if the Soviets attacked, and as the most violent war the world has ever known was devouring ammo and equipment.

I understand. That's how empires function. But I don't think we should be an empire.

I don’t know how you thought we were going to fight the Soviets ...

The Soviets are no more. We should have shut down our own empire 30 years ago.
