One observes from the post after my links to many credible sources — with links — for “The whole Ukraine goes for sale - massive profit opportunities being created by the war” that the stratagem turned to 1) accusations of hatred, then 2) the argument that sourced articles are “fantasy postings,” and then 3) to “squirrel! look over there.”

One also observes that credible sources -- not approved on this thread -- are become "propaganda." Like American Enterprise Institute, Wall Street Journal and Barron's, all "hate." All "propaganda." It's been going on a long time, this sale of Ukraine to multi-nationals. Ssh. We're not supposed to notice....

So, here is some additional "propaganda" in support of Update from Ukraine | Ukrainian Farmland being sold --

And an interesting summation of some data:

"Three large American multinationals bought 17 million hectares of Ukrainian agricultural land. These are Cargill, Dupont and Monsanto (which is officially German-Australian but with American capital). Five percent of Ukrainian agricultural land was subsequently purchased by the Chinese state. For comparison, the whole of Italy has 16.7 million hectares of agricultural land. In short, three American companies bought more useful agricultural land in Ukraine than the whole of Italy."

This horrid yet still officially non-NATO war between two non-NATO nations, but thuggish and both tagged by many as "evil," is obviously generating "massive profit opportunities being created by the war." For the few and politically well,-connected. Corruption of many kinds is evident, the governments all deeply involved. All of them. The stakes are high, and the grift -- from small to large -- easily evident, wearing the camouflage of "white hats" and the anointing of assertions without substance.

IGNORE the AGITPROP, not worthy of a response :)

The Pro- Putin invasion squad are just attempting to prevent their current false agitprop from being revealed.

The term ‘AGITPROP’ of using political slogans and half-truths were specific to the Marxism practiced by communists in the Soviet Union. Originally, the label was a shortened form of the ‘Agitation and Propaganda Section of the Central Committee Secretariat of the Communist Party’ in the Soviet Union.

Today, AGITPROP is just the modernization of this same political strategy. Often, this AGITPROP version may be found within public forums and chat-rooms.

The “Pro-Putin Russian invasion” distractors and detractors are just applying ‘agitation and propaganda’ techniques to ‘troll’ others in an attempt to influence public opinion.
“Pro-Putin Russian invasion” lurkers are about to vomit more of their AGITPROP!

Thanks for posting the link. The article is well worth reading.

From it: "The experimental psychology literature suggests that, all other things being equal, messages received in greater volume and from more sources will be more persuasive. Quantity does indeed have a quality all its own." From "The Russian "Firehose of Falsehood" Propaganda Model," RAND, (link courtesy of MeganC).

And so on, going back for months. Reprising from the RAND article, ""The experimental psychology literature suggests that, all other things being equal, messages received in greater volume and from more sources will be more persuasive. Quantity does indeed have a quality all its own." .

"The Daily Davydov" is "reporting," while sourced articles from Reuters, Politico, Guardian Uk, Bayer, Bretton Woods, USAID, CNBC, FreeWest, AllAboutFeed, Business Insider, InForum, NBC News, Financial Times, Cargill, Oakland Institute, il Manifesto (Italy), Legal Home, IntelliNews, AlJazeera, MROnline, Twitter posts, NewColdWar, ModernDiplomacy.eu, American Enterprise Institute, Inventure, Barrons are "agitprop." That's the argument.

Other "from more sources," as RAND mentions, in these daily Davydov-headlined threads are, as examples of greater volume and quantity, posted almost daily now:

Davydov (YouTube channel which uploads in Switzerland), Divine Justice (YouTube channel which uploads from the United States), The Enforcer (YouTube channel uploaded from the United States), President of Ukraine Official Website, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, UATV English (YouTube channel uploaded from Ukraine), СОБЕСЕДОВАНИЕ В РДК | НОВАЯ ЖИЗНЬ НА СТОРОНЕ ДОБРА, В СОСТАВЕ РДК (YouTube channel uploladed from Poland), Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, Reporting from Ukraine (YouTube channel uploaded from the United States), Warthog Defense (YouTube channel which uploads from the United States), Kanal13 (which uploads from the United States), Oracle Eyes (YouTube channel which uploads from the United States), and many cited, as RAND says in another context, "quantity does indeed have a quality all its own."
Such are the differences between agitprop and a worldwide press. Since RAND is a resource, here is another from RAND:
Five years ago, RAND published a seminal document describing Truth Decay, and former President Obama put it on his summer reading list. Since then, our RAND colleagues have examined the intersections of Truth Decay with media literacy, individual resistance, and vaccine hesitancy. In our new report, we examine this phenomenon specifically in the context of national security, finding that Truth Decay adversely affects the day-to-day business of national security and major decisionmaking at every level.

Two core drivers of Truth Decay are political polarization and the spread of misinformation—and these are particularly intertwined in the national security arena. Exposure to misinformation leads to increased polarization, and increased polarization decreases the impact of factual information. Individuals, institutions, and the nation as a whole are vulnerable to this vicious cycle. More:

Truth Decay and National Security

I find especially interesting how RAND finishes its article with this advocacy:
"Legal institutions can play a positive role here, by raising the penalties for those who spread harmful false information when that speech specifically threatens or terrifies others. The U.S. system, however, is uniquely protective of speech, so social and political norms play a greater role in countering Truth Decay. Political figures could use their podiums to frame factual information as nonpartisan in order to stall or slow the polarization–Truth Decay cycle. At the same time, the bipartisan January 6 select committee, which spent 18 months interviewing over a thousand people and reviewing countless documents before releasing an 845-page final report (PDF), does not seem to have corrected false opinions that voter fraud changed the outcome of the 2020 election or opinions about President Trump's role in the events of the January 6 insurrection—suggesting that there are limits to the impact of traditional political mechanisms at truth-finding."
",,,messages received in greater volume and from more sources will be more persuasive. Quantity does indeed have a quality all its own." Since I openly attest that both the Putin and Zelensky governments are corrupt (and the EC of the European Commission and our very own Biden regime as well), this is a problem for the "pick one of two," when another view is heard. As Mr. Robinson has said, this is a "controversial" war.

Mr. Davydov is a Ukrainian civilian who had lived in Sevastopol up until the Ruzzian invasion and I imagine he has an axe to grind against Ruzzia.

Can’t say as I blame him.

--- "The article hit a bit close to home I guess."

Not at all. I was drafted in the lovely era of LBJ, wore olive drab, am honorably discharged, and dislike any accusation of being a Communist. So the article did not "hit a bit close to home." Far from it.

One observes that the various news links from many major Western news sources which were provided receives zero scrutiny from you, and therefore you have no discussion to provide. Confirmation bias trumps a barb.

“The article hit a bit close to home I guess. “

You are so correct!

I can’t believe Worldtraveler-once-upon-a-time finally admitted to his confirmation bias!

His entire modus operandi is searching for the minutest detail to confirm his prior beliefs. He jumps to assumptions and conclusions using wishful thinking to interpret any and all ambiguous information to support his pre-determined beliefs.

The major tell here is his consistent and total devaluation of comments and actually other Freepers that offer contrary information. Only his paradigm of belief can offer the total factual and solitary truth!!! Obviously, any resistance or contrary fact or truth, actually does self-limit WOUAT own insight while skewing further his personal point of view.

Thus, let us now recognize and ultimately forgive his and others degrading comments only meant to disparage one another.

None of us are perfect or faultless. Yet, most do not and will not thrive by demeaning other. THis confirmation bias becomes so great reveals why WOUAT needs and must ‘spin his tales’!

Let us recognize that each Freeper is entitled to freedom of thought and expression. I am not here nor is WOUAT responsible to dictate any viewpoint. The responsibility of each individual is to weigh information and develop their own point of view.

Free Republic offers each of us the privilege to share difference of opinions. And, this certainly does not become an excuse to allow rudeness, insults, shaming, or other censuring. I have learned much on F.R. & hope to learn more.

Jim Robinson calls us all to end abusive posts, name-calling, taunting, trolling, stalking, flame-baiting, insults, religious insults, flames, threats, ill-wishes, harassing & annoying posts, unwanted posts, etc.

We are better than this: We are Conservatives.

I personally don’t GAS about Denys Davydov and have never referred to him outside of responding to you and maybe a few others.

I follow enough news sources and whether he is good or bad I just don’t have the time for him.

Hope that clears this up for you.

Too bad Denys contributions to FINANCIAL support of Ukraine is unknown! But, I believe it would not sway some anti-Ukraine individuals confirmation bias. Worldtraveler once upon a time would just continue to search for the minutest detail to proclaim his assumptions, even if not factual, to confirm his prior beliefs.

How to Overcome the Confirmation Bias

There are a few different ways that we can try to overcome confirmation bias:

HOW TO OVERCOME THE CONFIRMATION BIAS:
There are a few different ways that we can try to overcome confirmation bias:

• Be aware of the signs that you may be falling victim to it. This includes being aware of your personal biases and how they might be influencing your decision-making.

• Consider all the evidence available, rather than just the evidence confirming your views.

• Seek out different perspectives, especially from those who hold opposing views.

• Be willing to change your mind in light of new evidence, even if it means updating or even changing your current beliefs.
