An 11-year-old boy was arrested after an attempted armed robbery with a knife in Santa Monica.
The incident took place on Oct. 2 near the 1300 block of Santa Monica Beach around 9:30 a.m., according to Santa Monica police.
The victim, who frequently visits the beach area, said he was sitting in his truck when he noticed two suspects, an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old, approaching his truck bed. Inside the bed was a bicycle he had tied down.
The 11-year-old suspect approached the truck while holding a knife near his chest, authorities said.
Both juveniles eventually fled the area but were located a short time later.
Both suspects were reported runaways from a group home in San Dimas. The 11-year-old was issued a citation for attempted armed robbery and the 13-year-old was cited for obstructing an investigation.
They were later released into staff custody at the group home. Officers also discovered both suspects had been previously arrested twice in September for carjacking and burglarizing a vehicle.

In my day, it was Cowboys and Indians surrounding the Good Humor truck.
San Dimas…that’s where Bill & Ted went to school.
Are we talking Quantavious Jenkins or Miguel Zapata?…
“ Officers also discovered both suspects had been previously arrested twice in September for carjacking and burglarizing a vehicle.”
And now attempted armed robbery and nothing is done. It is mind-boggling that the left has managed to convince so many people that violent criminals are only incarcerated because of their race. I have been reading that some karma is starting to bite some lefties in the backside and I rejoice in that.
Why let this fester. Extinguish them now.
Is the group home called 'The John Dillinger Home for Criminals in Training'? Asking for a friend.
That’s exactly the problem with prisons of one kind or another. The inhabitants are criminals and they learn bad things from one another! That is not a reason not to incarcerate, but we shouldn’t be surprised if the inmates come out worse than when they went in.
Before we had children, hubs and I were house parents at a group home. Our group was 6 white girls age 6-11. Sweet kids generally with very sad stories. Some parents should be shot imo.
I hear you. Many years ago, I was the CFO for the El Paso Shelter for Battered Women. My heart broke for the children in those broken households.
“we shouldn’t be surprised if the inmates come out worse than when they went in.”
As long as inmates don’t recognize prison authorities as being the “good guys”, they’re beyond any help they can get towards making a fresh start once they’re released.
This tells us nothing. 11 year old is arrested for assault. No name or description. The description of a freckle faced redhead was deliberately omitted because it might make people suspicious of freckles and red hair.
Also an aspiring rapper?
