I suspect the mods got a bit tired of the BLAME RUSSIA meme and told that bunch to cool it when it came to this attack, as there really are bad things that happen in the world that are NOT Russia’s fault.

I doubt that Mossad has any intelligence assets in Gaza as that place is insane. But yes, something does stink. Egypt would be the next country to blame, but I cannot see them doing that with the Sisi government.
About the only credible thing that I can come up with is that it was carried out a country that Israel thought was friendly with them and they used that trust to organize and equip the Palestinians. Not saying it was the Neocons, but it was some country that Israel trusted enough to let them bring in what was needed for the attack.
I think you might be over-analyzing the situation. There are always threats. Always.
I would guess that every day Israeli intelligence gets reports of a possible attack here, or a possible attack there.
It’s not always easy to sift out the nuggets of truth from all the background noise.

Israel will eventually figure this all out. But I suppose we will never know.

He wasn’t wrong. It does seem strange Israeli/US intellignece missed it so completely. Can’t wait to see what they say the after action report turns up. Not saying it applies here, but one of the strange things about massive intelligence failures is that they are usually punished by massive budget increases.
