As the growing tally of a negative impact on worldwide tourism continues to be confirmed, it will be a contest between "control" and "freedom of travel." I predict that freedom will win, in the end.
When retiring and relocating back to the states some years back, we'd planned on dropping some luxurious amount of Euros on touring many places we'd had on a list. Talk of mandates and the so-called "green pass" and more, we opted to relocate directly, skipping our plans to tour northern Europe and the British Isles. The tourism industry could have benefited, had we spent Euros and Sterling there. Nope. We lost some few opportunities, while the tourism industry lost as much as 20K € and ₤ 10K. Saved the money planned for there, and then spent it here instead.
If the WHO game gets adopted -- which was the "green pass" as the EU elite spoke of it as early as 2014 -- we will enjoy much we have not seen here. WHO wins; global tourism looses.
as an American citizen I view the WHO with the respect as used spit since it has no jurisdiction over me or my state and local authorities. They can pound sand and I could care less.
