PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (Gray News) - A woman in Mississippi is accused of crashing several weddings, including one in Pontotoc County.
According to the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, Sandra Lynn Henson was arrested at a wedding event over the weekend.
Mississippi authorities didn’t immediately specify what happened at the wedding but said she is facing charges that include larceny, trespassing and disturbing the peace.
The sheriff’s department said this was not the first time Henson has found herself in trouble with the law regarding weddings.
“Apparently Miss Hanson has been arrested in Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi for crashing weddings,” authorities shared.
Henson is also accused of stealing money and cards from purses while attending those weddings.
Given the mugshot, I don't think she was very successful if her intent was to steal the groom.
I used to work with a gal, who would go to funerals of people she barely knew or didn’t know, but had some peripheral reason.
At first I thought she was just kind and wanting to be supportive of grieving families, but later I thought it was most likely that she loved the church basement lunches after the funeral services. So, there’s that...

We just went to a wedding in PA. There were 3 weddings going at the same venue. Ours went later than the other 2 and 2 guys showed up, saw the billboard out front with the grooms name and walked in. When they were approached, they said, we’re friends of the groom, Mason. He said “I’m Mason”.

I am surprised she ever got caught. On a weddings, there are many people, and half of them do not know most of the other half. So you could pretend to be from the other half.
I would thing, if you just dress up, and sneak in, you can have a free dinner with no problem?!

Leland MS was the home of Jim Henson.
Leland is on or near the Mississippi River (hard to tell from the atlas) whereas Pontotoc County is in the northeast part of the state, between Tupelo and Oxford, so the wedding crasher may not be related to Jim Henson (and that may not be her maiden name).
why would this “woman” be let into a wedding reception anywhere?
Same type of personality who calls up cops and confesses to a crime having not committed the crime?
In have heard a rumor that if one works at a very large organization, there is always a party going on somewhere...birthday, retirement, meeting of the board, etc. And one can get fed at least once a day...
There are actually people who go to weddings, sneak into the reception room while the wedding is taking place, and steal the money from the “congratulations” cards. Depending on the size of the wedding and financial income of the couple and attendees, a person can steal from a few hundred to several thousand dollars that way. It sounds as if this person is just that type. If you have a wedding planner, they will insist upon having a person guarding the reception room or area where the gifts are located at all times.
