thanks for the inspiration
“NATO is not a purely defensive alliance, and its members are not peace-loving democracies.”
Uh huh. And when is the last time a NATO member country pursued a war of territorial conquest?
Did you read it?
Guess not
What is the point of territorial conquest when it’s easier to overthrow a government and impose a regime favorable to your own interests?
Invading and conquering foreign territories is not the sole condition of be non peace-loving. I remember Libya and Syria where Ubama-the-Kenyan’s “Lead from Behind” policy and Hillary Clinton had NATO bombing Libya and Syria. That’s ‘peace-loving?’
NORTH ATLANTIC Treaty Organization. Since when were Syria or Libya anywhere near there? You wanna do something about another country’s actions? Then go to the UN, dialogue, discuss, convince and build a consensus to act for world peace. NATO has no business doing what it’s doing now.
So, the purpose of NATO is to invade and conquer Russia? C’mon, man!
Perhaps not, but it's a pretty good criteria in comparison to countries that do regularly engage in invading and trying to conquer foreign territories.
Third, new technologies and interdependencies have broadened NATO’s agenda to cover cyberdefense and disruptive technologies. Economic dependencies on China and Russia have prompted the alliance to launch new initiatives such as the NATO-EU Task Force on Resilience of Critical Infrastructure. https://foreignpolicy.com/2023/09/11/nato-alliance-us-europe-russia-geopolitics-china-military-deterrence/
Answer: NEVER, and YES I read the article.
Moscow's paranoia derives from the self-serving assumption that everyone else thinks like they do. i.e. the cultural imperative to invade and subjugate the neighbors, a habit derived from the Mongol horde that controlled the region 600 years ago, and bequeathed upon them the dictatorship model of government that survives there to this day.
Then why did these invasions happen?
“NATO conducted an air war against Bosnian Serbs in 1995 and against Serbia itself in 1999, even though neither entity had attacked or even threatened any NATO member. The alliance similarly launched air and missile strikes against Libya in 2011 to help oust Muammar Qaddafi from power.”
And has any NATO member annexed any part of Serbia? NO. Give it a rest.
“...Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974 and seized nearly 40 percent of the island....”
Well we did - just in an off beat way.
We took part of Serbia away and created a new country from it, which was given to Bill Clintons bff.
He was the leader of a terrorist group called the KLA.
Just before Clinton befriended him, we quickly removed that label.
Now he is in the Hague for war crimes, esp removing organs from Serb prisoners who were alive and without anesthesia, for the black market.
But also drug running,much more.
We tend to do that...line up with corrupt drug running, human trafficking, scumbag leaders. Enter Zelensky.
Finally we built the largest US base on that property that we took from Serbia.
Camp Bondsteel. Very secretive. I think CIA ops are there.

Make no mistake. What we/NATO did was illegal.
“Yugoslavia had not attacked any NATO members, nor indeed threatened the security of any other country in the region; it was itself under an attack by a terrorist , irredentist organization. What NATO did on March 24, 1999 was an act of aggression, a crime against peace.”
It was an invasion and we created a huge camp there to further occupation.
Your Neocon cope is so hilarious
You realize NATO predates even the existence of “neocons”, right??? You’re beclowning yourself.
Nato was created to oppose the Soviet Union. It fulfilled it’s mission. The Soviet Union no longer exists. Nato is absolite.
Hardly. The Neo-Con propensity for foreign meddling and forever wars has been around since the Progressive era.
that’s nice, now shut down NATO, no longer needed
