Nasty animals. Should be shot on sight.

If you can find a market or a dedicated meat store that sells it, wild boar ribs are very delicious. I tried some several months ago and was instantly won over. Better than regular pork ribs.

No one needs a gun! Especially when walking in the forest. It’s so nice and peaceful there. Why would you want to ruin that peace by carrying a piece? Plus, aren’t there park rangers who can be called in an emergency? Also, you are intruding on the animals peace and quiet. You are in their home. Let the professionals deal with any problem.

And in the cities, there is so many people around, including professionals who are trained to respond to emergencies. There is little reason to be worried since the chances are slim that you will encounter problems. If something happens, call the professionals and let the experts handle it.

Let’s just all get along whether in the woods or the cities.

What country? Spain?

Close on the heels of two hikers dying in a grizzly attack in Banff National Park in Canada.

The Super 38 dumps them like a pole axed steer. Just don’t miss unless you have a tree handy.
There are parts of Webb County in south Texas where momma hogs tell their baby pigs stories about my Super 38 to scare ‘em into behaving.

I've heard about helicopter hog hunts in Texas. That would be fun.

I had a throw down with a wild boar once . Me and my .357 mag. It took 3 shots . After the first 2 it got up and charged me more . Closer each time The 3rd stopped it, 5 ft away . It was close.

You just have to be a good shot. My uncle hunts them with a .22LR.

Now, I’m betting you double-check that gun to ensure it’s loaded.

Wild boars are large and mean animals. I have taken down a bunch of them with a .223 at distance. Never been in close contact with one of them. But, I do carry a .45 long colt as a just in case.

Not in Spain. That’s a job, mainly, for the Guardia Civil. And they have little reason to patrol national parks unless there is reason to be on the lookout for misbehaving humans.

Their toughness is somewhat overrated. In the 80s, I took three by stabbing them with a knife. I will admit that the guide I was with had a pack of dogs that stopped the pig and kept him distracted while I went in with the knife. I have also shot them and even a .30-30 is good enough.
