Why anybody needs “climate action commissioner”?
Last I checked, fossil fuels are taxed very heavily, a lot more than other products. I do not thing they benefit from subsidies. I think, he considers some breaks from oversized taxation a subsidy?!
Last month a German car maker announced that they were ceasing production of two EV models. When you read the details, the reason is because the German government has ended EV subsidies. There is no market for EVs.
“He pledged to commit to reducing CO2 emissions by 90 percent by 2040 and finalize plans in January, following the advice of the EU advisory board for the climate. And he had some strong language on phasing out fossil fuel.”
Okay. He selected 90% by 2040. Since he has a date, where is the project plan? Where is the risk analysis, cost, vendors, and milestones?
