The Arrows released I Love Rock ’N’ Roll in 1975. Weird Al was 16 in 1975 . . . plausible that he composed I Love Rocky Road back then, without Dr. Demento’s encouragement, and somehow Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker, both British musicians, happened upon this remarkable event, having somehow traveled from Chelsea in London all the way to Lynwood, California?

I can’t think of any Weird Al song that I don’t prefer to the ‘original(?)’. Even without the comedy, the guy has a great voice and is a great musician IMHO
