RFK Jr. is the Democrats’ version of Ross Perot. He’ll pick up votes from both parties but more from the Dems. He’ll run as a candidate to clean up Washington corruption (and you know how bad things have become when a Kennedy is considered the clean candidate). But I would even settle for him being this year’s Ralph Nader.
Nader is a good analogy. I actually found Nader more acceptable than Gore, if only because Nader said he'd get us out of the World Bank and IMF. For the wrong reasons, I think, but the right policy. (I know -- I'm hearing Eliot in my head. From "Murder in the Cathedral") The last temptation is the greatest treason: To do the right deed for the wrong reason.
