Husband, an extremely trusting and optimistic soul, didn’t even shut his off. He got the alert here, in SoCal, at 11:20, and said it wasn’t through an app; it was delivered through the operating system itself. It looked like a text, but it is not a text.

At 11:18 PDT got sound on relatives phone, no sound on mine (sound set to off), both got text window with English message saying Presidential Alert bla bla bla.

I got rid of mine by powering off then back on.

Relative hit the OK in the text window to get rid of his.
