Libya, like many Muslim countries that haven’t bee destabilized by the powers that be, was doing just fine.
Muslim leaders know how to deal with the bad guys. Hussein, the Shah, Ghadaffi, Assad...all heavy handed but kept the bad guys in check.
Get rid of a strong leader in a place like the Middle East and you have chaos. Or you can look to any of the large cities in America where they have forgone keeping the bad guys in check by either getting rid of or holding back the cops and you get chaos.

I remember seeing videos of Libya before Skunk Cabbage got her messy hands on them. All of the apartments there had air conditioning, which is my measure of development. They were doing GREAT, actually.
