I quit smoking in my 40’s, and try to keep active. I have no heart damage according to my doc and my colonoscopy last week was totally clear of polyps.
So, I’m good for another 5-10 years....................

Interesting. My cholesterol is statistically perfect. I sit on the bottom line for both levels.
I probably have the worst diet of anyone you would meet. I eat almost no vegetables or fruits. I mostly eat meat and cheese.
My doc told me that carbs from bread and sugars in sweets like pies, cakes, desserts and candies causes cholesterol.
Pasta is bread.
Gravy is bread.
Anything made with flour is essentially a form of bread...............
I do love mac and cheese, but it doesn’t hurt me.
Skip the ‘mac’ part............... 😁
My doctor told me he was being forced to defend NOT prescribing statins to one of his patients by his medical group and Medicare. He gave no names of course but said this guy has a heart issue, he doesn’t have a cholesterol issue and doesn’t need it in my medical opinion and the patient agreed with him.
But, because he has so many codes in the system that fit the one size fits all version of healthcare this doctor was having to document why he wouldn’t prescribe a drug. The doctor then told me all they are using me for now is diagnosis, once I enter that the government and insurance companies follow the CDC guidelines for treatment and me and the patient are an after thought. He said if I had known this was the direction of medicine twenty years ago I would have went into business, I can’t wait to retire.

If you have an air fryer, put two-three eggs in it, set the temp for 270*, cook for 17-19 minutes depending on the size, then submerge in cool water then peel. Easy to do and works great.
Does he eat any vegetables or fruit ?
My wife has determined that I am not competent to operate something as complicated as an air-fryer, but I can boil a pot of water. 😉
Another quick way to make an egg is measure a half cup of water into a coffee cup, crack an egg into the water and microwave for ~50 sec. depending how runny you like your yoke.
My doc BIL retired a couple of years ago and felt the same way; however, the practice he sold was a concierge model and didn’t accept any kind of insurance, so they had a bit more flexibility, billing-wise. He and my sister spend most of their time traveling now.
Some veggies, rarely fruit.
