That's an excellent point.
The reason that isn't the case is that The Gift (forgiveness of your past sins) is admittance to a world that is free of sin. And that new world (the World of Righteousness) motivates (and will eventually require) one to be completely self-accountable and self-responsible about his or her behavior.
Analogies are hard to come by to illustrate what this is like, but imagine you were invited to join your college swim team or track team. You're going to do your very best even if you think your best is never going to be good enough to make you a star.
But, though you aren't good enough initially, you've got a coach (Jesus) who is going to work with you and keep working with you until your "best" gets better and better. As you get better, you begin to realize that with THIS coach (and a huge amount of hard work on your part), you might become a star.
I understand the concept my friend, but please read 34 to better understand the point I am trying to make.
