As Ukraine's counter-offensive grinds on - with limited gains and no decisive breakthrough - the number of amputees in the country is soaring.
There were 15,000 in the first half of this year alone, according to the Department of Health in Kyiv. The ministry won't disclose how many are soldiers. The authorities guard casualty figures closely, but the vast majority are likely to be military.
That's more amputees in six months than the UK had in the six years of World War II, when 12,000 of its servicemen and women lost limbs.
Ukraine has never had such a big number of amputees, and people blinded by the war," he says.
"Our medical system is not ready in some ways. Some veterans come in with really complex cases."

Didn’t it turn out that The Ukraine actually lost a few square miles? I was reading something about that. Not that you can believe a dammed thing that’s written about this sick situation.
This is a pretty senseless war, from both sides.
This poor guy and his wife. Barely 20, he has lost both hands and is blind and deaf.
He has sacrificed himself in the service of one of the most evil and exploitive Empires that has ever come down the pipe.
And in the end, Ukraine will be betrayed, just like China was betrayed, just like Cuba was betrayed, just like Vietnam was betrayed, and Laos and Cambodia, and Iraq and Afghanistan and... 
As terrible as it is for severely wounded Ukrainians, sadly it is worse for the Russians.

If it would not be for the US most Ukrainians still would have a roof over their heads and sleep in their own beds. Overall life and living conditions weren’t that bad in Ukraine, aside from corruption which reeked to high heaven, many times worse than here in the US and along with it, US governmental agencies involvement, in order to gain a foothold, stirring the pot long before the last elections, which were a sham to begin with just like the last elections here in the US.
Probably the eastern portion of the Ukraine which has a large portion of ethnic Russians and was constantly assaulted by radical groups; would have been annexed by Russia and things eventually would have settled down. The same goes for Europe if they had not jumped on the US bandwagon. The US purposely damaged the gas supply lines making sure that Europe in general and Germany in particular remains dependent on the US like a colony, just in case they may come to their senses and change their mind.
Those days when Russia had any ideas of expansion are long gone and over with and things of the past. All they want is a quiet neighborhood without NATO or CIA manipulation and intervention. Just like the US likes to keep their backyard free of any intruders. But the warmongers within the US regime know that a peaceful coexistence is bad for the production of war materials, especially the military industrial complex as well as the globalists, cranking out wartime supplies like there is no tomorrow and if they keep it up there may not be one. So, they keep stirring the pot until it will boil over and it isn’t too far from doing just that.

And those elements were the most aggressive in wanting military support for Ukraine. And the Greens initially gained political support for doing that.
The irony, because no other faction had more influence in making the EU countries totally disarmed, and completely dependent on Russian energy.
So after decades of pacifism, the Greens instantly transitioned from Gandhi to Patton with no intermediated steps !

Artillery and mines cause by far the greatest amount of amputations. It is an accepted fact Russia has at least a seven to one artillery advantage, and even our Pentagon has stated Vlads artillery hammer is like never before seen ( WW2 the last time).
50,000 amputees sounds to be correct. That said, many Ukie accounts reveal very poor field medical services, many accounts of huge numbers dying from their artillery wounds before they can be evacuated, which they state can take days.
Post war Ukie wounded/ dead analysis will be historic, and horrendous. Artillery has for centuries been called “ the King of Battle”….Patton, when asked what won the war answered “ Artillery”….Vlad will no doubt say the same.

In WWII they probably died on the battle field. Emergency medicine has come a long way. I saw a video of a bunch of supposedly Ukrainians who jumped out of their personnel carrier right into a minefield. They all got blown up, but at least of couple of them relatively calmly applied tourniquets to what remained of their legs.
Simple, where can they go? To the USA where they will be given free houses in Florida and a US paid pension for life. I am sure Tunnels 2 Towers will buy them all houses for their service battling evil Russians. They will get instant citizenship and automatic membership in the Democratic Party!
That figure would include amputees prior to this year. This article seems to give MacGregor some credibility. I agree with MacGregor’s logic in much what he says, but he doesn’t present any hard evidence about casualties. He may well be correct and if so, it’s really atrocious. 450,000+ dead Ukrainians is horrendous. The bottom line is our government and the Ukrainians are not providing information and both are repeatedly caught spewing propaganda.
But I do not require casualty figures. I know for certain that America has zero national interests in Ukraine. That is reason enough for the U.S. to not spend a dime on Ukraine.
And to think..all they had to do is sign the deal in spring of 22.
Before that, the Minsk accords.
