I imagine their chitin exoskeletons are pretty indigestible. Eat them in quantity and you might have a problem even Halley’s MO couldn’t solve.
People who don’t research their reptiles sometimes kill their critters with cricket/ mealworm diets.
Even things designed to eat bugs can’t handle all that chitin.
I’ve learned not to put shrimp shells in the garbage disposal. They stick to the sides and it clogs. I guess the chitin would not do my guts good.
