Yup, bygone days. The good old days.
Reminds me of USCG Alameda , CA. boot camp. My company was on its way to a record amount of competition award pennants for our company , and we were stuck trying to find a way to improve on our performance in week 8.
Then the company blanket party king
( a crazy masochist )
came up with that weeks barracks cleanliness competition award winning idea.
Remove the grates below the lockers to get at and polish the brass and copper piping under them.
Damn shame what Obama has done to our military.

As student platoon sergeant in AIT, I led us into a spectacular passing of the barracks inspection, when it was over and I prodded the inspecting sergeant to inspect even closer, he popped off the protective plate from the light switch and pointed out it was dirty inside, he taught me a lot about inspections.
