Well ... will Greg Abbot order the Texas State Police, and then the National Guard, to physically block Border Patrol personnel from cutting the wire? If it is pressed, will he order the arrest and detainment of Border Patrol personnel?

The Biden administration would instantly go to court and presumably find a controlled federal judge who would issue an injunction against the State of Texas.

Ok ... now would Gov. Abbot defy the injunction and continue to secure the border while appealing the case?

How fast would this get to the Supreme Court and what would the Supreme Court do?

Would the Texas National Guard back Gov. Abbot if it is federalized? Would Biden try to deploy the regular army to overmatch the TNG? Would anyone pull a trigger?

Where would this deescalate, if it does?

Greg Abbott will not try to stop the Feds. I am not sure he has the courage, but he certainly does not have the military force. The President can remove the National Guard from state authority by the stroke of his pen. I doubt Biden would be no more reluctant than Eisenhower and Kennedy were to assert Federal supremacy.
